Lúnasa February 2024 Newsletter


Hello all, we're just back from Temple Bar Tradfest in Dublin, where we had an epic night at The National Stadium with the legendary Ralph McTell and a host of other great singers and musicians including Tom Paxton, Declan O'Rourke, John Sheehan, Frank Gallagher and Camille O'Sullivan. It was brilliant to be back playing in Dublin after so long and we have plans made for both Dublin and Belfast gigs this summer.




Next up is a return to the USA and a 32 gig tour across 16 states starting on Feb 22nd in NY state with Geneva and Albany. We're very excited for this tour for many reasons but mostly because we have recorded a new cd and so we have lots of new tunes for the concerts. "Live in Kyoto" was recorded in December in Japan where we did 10 sets of new tunes to a small audience in the famous Taku Taku club. The cd is already mixed and mastered and ready for the tour, and shortly afterwards we will put it on general sale from our website.

As for the tour, some gigs have been added or put on sale since our last newsletter so check below. Our concert in the new and beautiful Groton Hill Music Center, near Boston, MA was sold out but has been moved to a bigger venue and we've added shows in Annapolis, Mount Vernon, Missoula, and Bozeman, MT. We have very some special nights in the midwest including Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music with Daoiri Farrell and both our amazing fiddlers Sean Smyth and Collin Farrell, and in Pantages Theatre, Minneapolis we'll have all 3 plus our great friends from Irish band JigJam
